Internal Door Hanging in Basingstoke
Hanging an internal door properly means trimming the leaf to the opening with an even 2 to 3 mm margin all round, cutting the hinges in flush by hand, fitting the latch and strike so the door closes with a clean click and not a slam, and fitting the handles level and at the same height through the house.

What internal door hanging includes
We hang single doors and whole houses of them. Most people are surprised how quickly a house full of new doors goes in and how much it changes the feel of every room.
- Single doors or every door in the house
- Hinges cut in by hand, not surface-mounted
- Latches, locks, handles and door stops fitted
- Doors trimmed to carpet or hard floor heights
- Sticking and dropped doors re-hung
- Frames and architraves made good and painted

Internal Door Hanging: your questions answered
How much does it cost to hang an internal door?
It depends on the door, whether the frame is reusable and the furniture you choose. We quote in writing after seeing the doors or the openings, and a whole-house set is priced per door at a better rate than one-offs.
How long does it take to hang a door?
About an hour to an hour and a half for a standard door into a sound frame, including the latch and handles. Oak and fire doors take a little longer.
Can you re-hang an existing door that sticks?
Yes. Most sticking doors have dropped on their hinges or swollen; we re-set the hinges, plane the edge and re-fit the latch so it closes properly.
Do I buy the doors or do you?
Either. If you buy them, we tell you the sizes to order; we can also supply them through the trade merchants we use.
